Questions fréquentes

I'm sick in France and don't speak French — how do I see a doctor?
Message your symptoms to French Doctor in English (also French or Arabic) — no French needed. An English-speaking GP licensed in France reviews your case personally and sends a prescription PDF in about 30 minutes. There's no appointment, no app to install, and no waiting room.
Where can I find an English-speaking doctor in Paris without an appointment?
French Doctor is an online English-speaking GP based in Paris, available 7 days a week with no appointment. You start any time by sending your symptoms; the doctor replies and issues a prescription remotely, so you don't need to find or travel to a physical clinic.
Can I get a prescription or antibiotics in France as a tourist?
Yes. Tourists and visitors can get a private prescription — including antibiotics when medically appropriate — from a French-licensed GP. The doctor decides based on your symptoms; if antibiotics aren't suitable or your case needs an in-person exam, you're told and your card is not charged.
How fast can I get a consultation and a prescription?
On average about 30 minutes during opening hours, from sending your symptoms to receiving your prescription PDF. The Express text consultation responds in roughly 15 minutes; video consultations take around 30 to 45 minutes in total.
Is the prescription valid in French pharmacies and across the EU?
Yes. It is signed by a French GP registered with the RPPS and is accepted at any pharmacy in France. Under EU Directive 2011/24/EU, it can also be dispensed in pharmacies across the European Union.
How much does it cost, and when am I charged?
Consultations cost €39 (Express, text), €49 (Standard, video) or €79 (Premium, extended video). Your card is only a hold and is charged after a prescription is issued — if the doctor cannot prescribe, you are not charged. Fees are private and not reimbursed by French Social Security.
🚨 Life-threatening emergency? This is NOT for emergencies. If you have chest pain, difficulty breathing, or severe bleeding — call 15 (SAMU) immediately.
